Every great fighter has a story and Wing It On! is no exception. Born from the frustration of mediocre wings and the relentless drive for something better, our journey started like any good underdog tale—with a challenge and a champion ready to take it on.
Our Co-Founder and Brand President Matt Ensero grew up in Waterbury, Conn., where Sundays meant one thing: NFL football with friends. But there was one problem. The “best” wings were miles away, and the trip there often meant missing out on the game’s best moments. One Football Sunday, when no one wanted to make the haul, Ensero decided to take matters into his own hands and cook up wings himself that quickly became a favorite. His friends threw down the gauntlet: “Why don’t you open up a wing joint here in Connecticut, close by?”
That night, Matt didn’t just accept the challenge—he stepped into the ring, drafting the business plan for what would become Wing It On! As Ensero recalls, “Most wing nuts, most wing fanatics will reference a sports bar or full-service establishment... But very rarely did you hear anybody bring any passion to the QSR fast casual realm when they’re talking about wings. And that’s something we wanted to change.”
Since 2011, Wing It On! has been redefining the ultimate buffalo wing experience in the industry. We deliver knockout flavor with every bite. Our menu boasts over 20 signature sauces and rubs, including our championship-winning Medium Traditional Buffalo sauce, which has claimed the title of “America’s best-tasting” at the National Buffalo Wing Fest.
